Hint: it’s SO HARD to wait when you’re excited. My wonderful pattern testers are off and running, and I absolutely love the fabric they’ve chosen.

Here are fabric pulls from four of the six, and I’ll give you a little sneak peek in your mind’s eye: the speedy tester who’s fabric is on the bottom of this picture IS ALREADY DONE WITH A QUEEN SIZE. Mind blown. I will be sharing the finished tester versions on pattern release day, May 1st, and I am just chomping at the bit, I tell you. Just look at these colors and value ranges! The final quilts promise to be thrilling to the eye.

I am so pleased with how testing is going, and excited that I have a wide range of quilting experience in my tester group from beginner to advanced; one who started quilting during the pandemic, and a couple ladies who have been quilting longer than I’ve been alive. There are both fresh eyes, and some deep knowledge and experience at work here, and I am incredibly grateful that they not only agreed to test this pattern, but seem to be enjoying the process! We are not even halfway through the testing period and their careful notes and critiques have improved my pattern immeasurably.

P.S. There is something else I’m excited about, and because I have no patience I’m going to tell you about it. I have been experimenting with silhouette portraits, which you may remember from my portrait of Quentin. Firstly, I have named it A Peek Inside, and I have turned it into a series with each portrait using different piecing and appliqué techniques – pictures coming soon! Secondly, so many people asked about how to do this and expressed interest in learning after I posted a picture of it in quilting groups, that I have started developing the series into an online class! So much new territory this year. More details soon to come!
