My name is Karoline, and I make quilts. I make them in my head, then I make them for my bed. … Ahem.
Welcome to Flustered Turtle Quilting and Design! I make all manner of fabric art, from traditional pieced quilts to fabric collage art quilts. I am happy to do commissioned work of any related variety, and I love collaborating with clients to realize our creative vision. Feel free to contact me if you have an idea for a project! Anything I have made that I like and is not already claimed, I will have for sale on this site. If there isn’t anything in my shop, I’m very sorry! If you like my work, please check back later.
There is anxiety and excitement to be had in equal parts as I embark on this online adventure, for when the great business-sense voice spoke unto me and said “thou shalt write thine blog,” I embraced the challenge with dread and gusto – then proceeded to hem and haw for several further years before this terrible, wonderful moment.
I owe a great debt of soon-to-be not-so-secret gratitude to Marcy Harriell, of Oonaballoona. I have been reading her blog for many years, and the vibrancy of her spirit combined with her honesty about her process is both refreshing and entertaining. BONUS! Her creations are exuberant and beautiful. I highly recommend her blog to anyone who… nope just anyone. Ever. Everyone. You’re welcome.
I will post on my projects in progress, as well as projects I have finished, and I may post occasionally about related things in my life. I am inspired by wonderful artists Susan Carlson, Marcy Harriell, Cindy Needham, Patsy Thompson, and my wonderful cousin who follows her passion, Nicki Nysven.
